so cute!. im so proud of my little green guys. they're going to be pine trees. see how the tips are already splitting into thing needles? they're like the wire frame of an umbrella right now.

i learned that i'm not a great blogger

but, i already knew that. i recently went to see my friend gregory han of apartment therapy give a panel talk about blogging. it was hosted by blog out loud. I was just down the street eating thai food when I got the facebook update that he'd be talking one block over at DWR so it was totally meant to be. I got to test out my dream office chair for a couple hours to make sure that I like it (i do. i rolled around the whole store in it like it's my wheelchair) and listened to bloggers talk about blogging. it made me miss school. I learned that I do most things wrong. I don't open up my posts to comments, I don't blog regularly, and I blog late. like for example, this event was about 2 weeks ago and my last post of hawaii was a month ago and i'm behind on blogging photos of italy from 2 months ago. that's ancient history in blog world. oh well. it was inspiring and fun and for now i'm gonna keep doing things my own retarded way.

other news lately....

house/cat sitting again for the month. this place has a koi pond and lots of gorgeous wood and large glass windows with views of a tree in the courtyard. it's peaceful, i'm getting lots of work done and there's a house cleaner. i think these past 2 years i've slept in close to 100 different beds.

i was in SF a few weeks ago and i saw this while driving around. i think i was in the mission. i'd love to know who made it. my friend lana sent me these links earlier and it was a nice surprise to see something an example person. i'll add this onto my long 'projects to do one day' list.

girl's surf movie!!! lori d. has some illustrations in it... so perfect for summer. i can't wait to get into the ocean. i haven't been surfing all year.

Handmade Nation

documentary about crafters and designers. a lot of my friends and buds are in this... there's also a book that's already out with the same title... should be inspiring i hope.

who wouldn't love a michael cera love story? looks adorable in that sappy, dorky sort of way...

all these movies are either screening now or coming out very soon. most have small distribution so please check them out if you can. i hope my schedule will let me see them all too! :)

edit: herb and dorothy is great. couldn't see dear and yonder 'cause friend forgot her i.d. and there was an rsvp list that wasn't mentioned on the website. paper heart is good too! so is ponyo!! but i like pretty much anything with an ocean theme.

signs of spring i've witnessed recently:
-hummingbird nest outside our window. we saw the eggs and then the 2 little naked babies and now i see a hummingbird in the backyard regularly that i like to assume was from the nest.
-had to brake fast to avoid hitting a mama duck and her baby ducklings crossing the freeway onramp. they were sooo cute. it was like a cartoon moment.
-my tan lines are back.
-all i want to do is spring clean. i got rid of a bunch of stuff and i'm trying to get rid of more. go here to take my stuff.

saw a rainbow today in eagle rock

it's a big one! and i didn't notice the one above it that's barely visible (look at upper right of photo) until i imported the rainbow into my computer....
